Choose your risk!

By the time some are through reading this post, my cane would have been soaked in hot pepper! Before you spank me though, please get the gist of the story.

I had to take a semi-planned trip to Ikorodu some days ago to see my pops. My plan was to get there on time, so as to leave early enough for my church’s community bible study, but that didn’t really work out.

Due to the fact that I left Ikorodu late (Lagosians know that anything past 4 on that axis is late already) I opted for a bike 🏍 down to Ojota just so I might meet up bible study (which I’d never done before). Why? You may ask. There was no ticket official at the bus terminus and other buses refused to go to Ojota! Well, that decision cost me a whooping five hundred naira and almost a heart attack.

The trip back to Ojota began. I would say the guy was cautious through the trip. However, as we approached Mile 12, the bike man suddenly stopped near a street, just before the bridge. I was a bit frightened! What could be the problem? I jumped off the bike as I wondered. I couldn’t fathom his next move!

“E ma binu, mo fe sare play game”. What! My life! When I’m rushing to meet up service somewhere, this guy is telling me he wants to play betnaija🙆🏻‍♀️. Won ti get me🤪. I weak! I couldn’t even get angry 🤷🏽‍♀️. All I could say was he should’ve told me even before stopping so I’m well prepared! He apologised again. “Ti mi o ba play e nisiyin, time ma lo…”. Apparently there’s a time frame for the game or something. What do I know sef!

Having resigned to fate, I consoled myself and hopped on the bike to continue the journey. He hasn’t moved too far when my curious self requested to know what time it is. He answered some minutes to 7pm. I just didn’t know what to make of it.

As if that was not enough stress, a tinted rugged jeep almost knocked us out of the way from the rear😱, thank God I was fast enough to alert the bike guy. Moreover, he was an experienced driver! It was after this incidence, I realised he had no mirror. Ha! Temi bami🙆🏻‍♀️. I couldn’t wait for us to get to my destination so I could alight. There and there, I promised never to try this again in my life! What was I thinking?!

Oh well, I got to church 20mins(or so) to the end of bible study!

What hurry and Betnaija will cause🙄. I guess we need to be more careful and weigh our decisions before taking any risk whatsoever. God help us!

NB: my hubby and pops must not see this o🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️
